Hello, I’m Chuck
I am the artist behind this woodworking site.
After years as a technology teacher and coach, I am now focusing my work on my long-term interest in woodworking.
I don’t see a pile of old wood- I see what it could become- something unique and practical and beautiful.
I work out of a shop I built for myself in Platteville, Wisconsin. It is a great place to escape and create. If you’ve ever built something, you know the feeling of taking a vision and bringing it to life. When you are doing something you love, time stands still and I can get lost for hours in my shop.
In the rest of my life, I am married to my wonderful wife Marcia. We have two children, Kurt and Amanda, who are both married with children. We love spending time with our family and being a Grandfather has brought a lot of joy to my life. We also have a large extended family and we enjoy time with our siblings and their families as well.
I still enjoy baseball and football- once a coach always a coach, although now I “coach” from the sidelines. I also volunteer my time with the non-profit organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace , where we making beds for children and families in need.
